Staff Development and Training

Staff Development and Training

Here at Hillside all staff complete the Care Council Induction Framework and the relevant recognized qualification for the post within the first year. Each member of staff has an individual training plan which is devised from their yearly appraisal and monitored via monthly supervision.

The commitment from the individuals towards their own professional development, and the approach taken by Hillside to the development of the staff team, has been recognised by two Golden Heart Awards this year - Outstanding Personal Academic Achievement 2011 and Best Newcomer 2011.

Hillside also promotes succession planning for staff and has proved successful in developing individuals to practice a higher standard of care and expertise throughout the establishment. The feedback from this training alone has been very positive as staff feel empowered to undertake this challenging area of work.
